Part 1

An angry soul, that's what they call Cass. But what else could she become after a lifetime of rejection and punishment? By her pack and worst of all… by her fated mate. The man destined to love her, protect her, and stand at her side is the same man who wounds her the deepest. If the moon goddess chose him for her, then why does he break her instead of cherishing her?

But if he doesn't want her… someone else does. And this stranger sees value in her that no one else ever bothered to look for. He'll stop at nothing to claim her.

Cass moves through the world unaware of the power buried inside her. A force that could unravel everything. Will the daughter of a madman alter this dangerous stranger's fate… or awaken something even he can't control?

"Alexis?"

His hand closes around my neck. Not enough to hurt, just enough to remind me how easily he could. One squeeze and it would be over.

"Cass…" he murmurs, his voice low.

"What…what are you doing, Alexis?"

"You want to be cheeky with me?" His tone drops.

"W‑what?"

"If you talk to me the way you did before, then you deal with the consequences." His eyes lock on mine. "Can you handle the consequences?"

My lips tremble.

His gaze flicks down to them. "I could kiss you right now," he mutters.

"Why…"

"Why not?"

"You know why? I'm unwanted by the men in my pack—"

"Men? They're not men. You've been dealing with boys. I'm no boy."

He makes my whole body shiver.

"So... do you want me to?" His warm breath brushes my lips, sending shivers through me.

My mind goes blank. I don't know what to say, but... I don't hate the idea. Not one bit.
